38 Week appointment!

Well, pretty exciting stuff- doctor's appointment this a.m.

I am 1 cm. dilated and 50% effaced. That's something, right?? :)

Everything else looks good!!! We're really in the home stretch!

Baby Stuff Everywhere!!!!

As part of his daddy-to-be training, Bob spent the other night putting together the stroller, pack 'n play, and swing.... he even installed the car seat!

Here he is, studying the stroller instructions....

Zoe says, "Dad, uh, can I help? Please? Can I?"


She finally resorted to just watching. :)

My friends... we are nearing the very end....

I am sitting here, just incredulous, that this journey is drawing to a close so quickly. Of course, I am on the brink of an even greater, lifelong journey, which I am facing with immeasurable anticipation .

We have done everything we could think of to prepare... childbirth classes, hospital tour, shopping (x84 trips), building a nursery and master bedroom, doctor's appointments, ultrasounds, and perhaps more than anything else, countless quiet moments spent together talking, dreaming, and waiting for this huge step that we are about to take together. From here on out, we are going to have to throw the preparation mode temporarily out the window and move on to a whole lot of game day decisions. :) Stay tuned for the arrival of our daughter- and know that we are so very thankful for all of you- for your support, your love, and your wisdom.

Bob Tries Some Sympathy!

Never one to turn down a challenge, Bob braved the sympathy belly on our last night of childbirth class! I know I'm a bit biased, but I think he looks a bit cute!! :)

Baby Shower 7/26/08

Wow! What an amazing baby shower we had!! It was just perfect- great friends, great food, and awesome presents! Thank you so much to everyone who had a hand in helping (I know there were many of you!!)- I could not have pictured a better shower. We are so lucky to have so many wonderful friends and family, who came together to welcome our baby!

Holy presents!!! You'll notice that none of the presents are wrapped! My sister requested in the invitation that guests leave the paper off the presents- a nice GREEN effort to not waste all the paper, and also A LOT easier for a pregnant girl to get through a huge pile of presents!!!!



Many guests brought a pack of diapers!!! We have about 20 packs to start us off!

Bob tells the story about how he's being prepared in the event that I go into labor far away from the hospital as he opens the emergency medical childbirth kit from Melisa and Dan! LOL!!!


Awww... not only did my brother come to my shower, but he brought a present- the cutest classic pooh teddy bear! :) It's already in the crib waiting for the baby!


Costco makes THE best cakes- good call, Jamie!!


Brother-in-law JP plays with Sadie (my... 2nd cousin? lol)

Once we used the men to carry the loot to the car, they were excused from shower duties. Here's Bob... I mean, did he forget he's not 15 anymore? Jeez.
